Richborough Roman Fort Guidebook
Product label: Merch-Misc

Overview
This guidebook explores Richborough and Reculver, two key sites in the history of Roman Britain. At Richborough stood one of the greatest monumental arches of the Roman Empire, a symbolic ‘gateway to Britain’ at the head of the great Roman road west into the heart of Britain, Watling Street. The guide draws on the latest research from the Roman fort and port town of Richborough, and includes photography, reconstructions and some of the remarkable objects now on display in the site’s refurbished museum. It also relates how the Roman fort at Reculver became an Anglo-Saxon monastery. An integral walking map gives a guided walk from Richborough to the fascinating medieval town of Sandwich.
