Wrest Park Guidebook

This beautifully illustrated guidebook contains a full tour and history of the magnificent house at Wrest Park and its extensive gardens and garden buildings. Built between 1834 and 1839 by Thomas, Earl de Grey, the house is a near unique example of English architecture following the style of an 18th-century French chateau. Special features shine a light on key people and aspects of the site, such as the ornate 18th- and 19th-century wallpaper that has survived in some of the upper rooms, Thomas Archer, the architect behind the magnificent baroque pavilion in the gardens, and Wrest’s role as a First World War hospital.
