Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings

Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings are home to eight special buildings, each with a story to tell. At the heart of the site is The Mill. It was the world’s first multi-floored iron-framed building, making it the grandparent of the skyscraper. Now, as part of a major restoration project, these buildings are being brought back to life for visitors and locals alike. Discover more about the site in the hands-on exhibition, or take a guided tour to go behind the scenes and up to the top of the Jubilee Tower. In The Mill itself, you’ll also find a shop selling local gifts and a bright, welcoming café.
